Meet Tyler Hines our KC Cattle Company Vice President of Operations. You'll find him wrangling all your Wagyu packages to make sure your delivery arrives to your door in tip top shape! Read more about Tyler below.
I started at KC Cattle Company in August of 2019. I had been discharged from the Army and had six weeks until I started my new job. Patrick needed help during the hot dog frenzy and I needed something to do for six weeks. The rest was history – I fell in love with KC Cattle Company’s mission, the people, the property, and of course, Wagyu Beef.
I was born in Illinois in 1992 to two parents who have now been married for nearly 40 years. My family has a long line of military tradition and serving their community including my Dad, who served in the Air Force and my Mom, who is a Nurse. My younger brother is currently serving in the Navy overseas. When it came time for me to go to college, I earned an Army ROTC scholarship at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I graduated in 2015, commissioning as a Second Lieutenant with Active Duty orders to go be a Military Police Officer at Fort Leavenworth, KS.
During my 4 years at Fort Leavenworth, I served as a Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, and as a Battalion Staff Officer in the Operations Section. Also during my service time, I completed Air Assault School, the 18.6 mile Norwegian Ruck March, was certified in Crime and Intelligence Analysis, and my Company was trained and certified to perform Detention Operations in North Korea in 2017-2018, if needed. I am thankful for the experiences the Army gave me, but the decision to leave became easy when I accepted an offer with the FBI in February of 2019.
I left the Army in June of 2019 and my FBI start date was in July. Everything was lining up perfectly, until I found out I had been delayed for 10 weeks, I spent 3-4 weeks unemployed doing volunteer work with a local Veteran organization when Patrick reached out to me. We had a mutual friend who was a former Army Ranger, like Pat, that was also delayed from the FBI’s hiring process. After two weeks of working for Pat, he offered me the Vice President of Operations position and I became the first full-time employee he hired at KC Cattle Company. The circumstances that led me here were so unpredictable that it must have been meant to be.
