Zeph joined the Army as a 19D Cavalry Scout on April 5, 2010. After completing basic training and AIT at Fort Knox, Kentucky he was then stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. On August 26, 2010 he deployed to Iraq as a vehicle gunner in support of Operation New Dawn. Upon returning August 12, 2011 he married his fiancé Shelby. During his time spent home before his next tour of duty he attended multiple schools such as the Army’s Javelin gunner school, Stryker Reconnaissance vehicle training, and Army Air Assault school. On April 25, 2013 to December 17, 2013 he deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as a PSD (Personal Security Detail) Team Leader. On March 27, 2015 he was medically retired from the Army as a Sergeant (E-5).
After separating from the military, Zeph had multiple jobs ranging from a car salesman to a mechanic. All of them fell short leaving him constantly searching for the camaraderie and fulfillment he once had while serving his country. In August 2018 he found KC Cattle Company and felt like he was home. While being one of the first employees he was able to work on both the ranch and operations side of the business. Although, the ranch side was his primary focus. In 2019, he decided to take some time off and help fast track his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. In October of 2020 he returned as an operations specialist being his primary focus. Currently he resides in a small town outside of Kansas City Kansas with his wife Shelby and his daughter Ava.
