What is the Sua Sponte Foundation, you ask?

'Sua Sponte' is the 75th Ranger Regiment’s moto, meaning 'Of their own accord.' The Sua Sponte Foundation is a 501(3)(c) non-profit organization that bends over backwards to help the men of 1st Ranger Battalion. When a Ranger is hurt or killed, SSF is there to pick up the pieces that the military doesn’t cover. This ranges from financial needs to just about anything else you can think of that a Ranger might need. The best part, none of the people that run the organization take a dime for themselves.

My personal experience with SSF is one that makes my allergies act up and my eyes start watering just a bit. After Jeremy was killed, there are things you just don’t think of that come up and need to be attended to. The Sua Sponte Foundaton stepped in and interceded on anything they deemed might be stressful for my sister (SSG Jeremy A. Katzenberger’s wife). They did not ask for public recognition or a donation at the end of their services. They just did what was right. In addition, they were always there for me personally. Even since existing the military, I have remained close with the organization. I could not think of a better military organization to give your money.
